Have you ever tried to find class valentines for Infants or young Toddlers? My DIY Valentines for Infants and Toddlers are candy free, BPA free, functional, and fun! When my daughter was an infant, I wanted to send valentines for her class. Most of her class hadn’t started solids yet so a fun food item was out of the question. After searching Pinterest for infant valentine ideas, I was left with very few. Here’s one DIY Valentine for Infants and Toddlers is sure to be a hit!
For my infant valentines, I connected four links together to make a cluster. I made the design in Silhouette Studio, printed, and then cut the heart shaped tags on my Silhouette. I attached the heart tags to link clusters with ribbon and made the perfect valentines for infants and toddlers. These links are great when you have a little one. You can attach a toy to a car seat or stroller, make a chain, or use as a teether.
I purchased two packs of Lots of Links from Amazon. You can also find them at Walmart and Target. I never have time to go out and hunt for things, so I usually Amazon everything. . . and prime shipping works great for last minute projects! There are 24 links per pack. Along with the links you will also need paper, ribbon, and glue. I used light pink, dark pink, and red card stock.
I used my Silhouette to cut these valentines, but you can make a version of these valentines by hand as well. A simplified version would be to cut hearts, punch a hole for the ribbon, and write your message.
My DIY infant valentines have two layers of cardstock. The bottom layer has a heat with a teardrop shape and cut out for the ribbon. The top layer is a heart with a fun valentine’s message. I printed and cut the shapes, and then glued the layers together using a glue stick. Once the hearts dried I tied a cluster of four links together and attached them to the hearts. I used fun sayings on the hearts to mimic the classic sweethearts candies. Here are some fun sayings you could try with the links.
“Let’s Link Up!” “Hooked on You!”
“I’m Attached!” “Attached to You!”
“I’m Hooked”
Once you’ve come up with some cute phrases, it’s time to get them on your paper and make some fun valentines.
